Completing our Admission Form

We're pleased to welcome your child to Pinner Park Primary School.

You will be invited to complete an admission form through an online portal.  Occasionally, we may provide you with a paper version of the form, but the information is the same.

The admission form is a very important document.  It gives us all the information we need and helps us to get your child settled into school quickly.  Please complete the form as soon as you are able to.

We hope you find the following notes helpful.

Parents and Contacts
  • Please add all parents with parental responsibility to this section, even if they don't live with your child.
  • In the 'additional contacts' section, please include any other adults who may be contacted, or who may collect your child from school.

Medical and Special Educational Needs
  • If your child has any special educational needs, disabilities or medical conditions, please do let us know.  This will help us to support them in school.
  • In 'dietary needs' please record any diagnosed allergies or intolerances - this does not include foods your child doesn't like.

Additional Information
  • Please use the online checker to see if your child may be eligible for free school meals.  It is worth checking!

Parental Agreements and Consents

Apologies that this section is a bit of lengthy read.   We take cyber security and data protection very seriously and we want to ensure that we have have put steps in place to ensure we meet our obligations. Giving your consent at this stage will also mean we won't have to keep asking for consent during your child's time at the school.

School Visits
We ask you to give your consent for your child to:
  • Take part in school trips and other activities that take place off school premises; and
  • Be given first aid or urgent medical treatment during any school trip or activity.

The trips and activities covered by this consent include;
  • all visits during and beyond the school day
  • adventure activities
  • off-site sporting fixtures

The school will send you information about each trip or activity before it takes place. You can, if you wish, tell the school that you do not want your child to take part in any particular school trip or activity.

Written parental consent will not be required from you for the majority of off-site activities offered by the school – for example, year-group visits to local amenities – as such activities are part of the school’s curriculum and usually take place during the normal school day.

Photographs and Videos
As a school, we regularly use photographs (and occasionally videos) to show how our pupils and the school as a whole develop. Images can also help us illustrate and communicate with parents about upcoming events and can help advertise and market the school to prospective parents and pupils.
Parents and pupils really enjoy being able to see their images and would like to give all pupils this opportunity.

There are a number of instances when the school may take photos of your child, specifically:
  • Website: We publish photos on the school’s website to promote the school to current and prospective parents as well as providing updates on current events.
  • Social Media: We publish photos on our social media accounts, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, to provide updates on events and news within the school.
  • Videos: From time to time we put videos on our website and YouTube channel which can be seen by subscribers to our channel (they are unlisted videos).
  • Newsletters: Within our newsletters, we may provide photos of recent events or achievements from our pupils;
  • Published media: Other media may be used in and out of school to provide information to parents and others.  This includes flyers, leaflets, posters, presentations, banners, signs and brochures which contain images to show life at our school.
  • News Media: We may be visited by the media who will take photographs or film footage of events. Pupils will sometimes appear in these images, which may then be published in local or national newspapers, in televised news programmes and on social media sites;
  • School Photographer: During the year a school photographer will visit the school and take individual and group photos of the children which will be made available to purchase. Reminders will be sent in good time prior to the photographer’s visit.

Pupils will not be named in the photographs.

Consent to using your child’s images will last throughout your child’s time at the school and will continue to apply for a short time after they leave (except for images published for historical purposes which may be kept for an extended period of time to show the history of the school). You can withdraw your consent at any time and can do so by writing to us at office@pinnerpark.harrow.sch.uk.  At that point they will not be used in future publications but we cannot prevent them from continuing to appear in publications already in circulation.

We encourage you to consent to all categories because children and parents love to see school life and to be featured as part of it.  We are always use video and photographs sensitively, aiming to show your child and the school in the very best light!
