Pupil Premium
Background
The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools for children of statutory school age from low-income families who are known to be eligible for Free school meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings (or children who have been eligible in the last six years). It is also for children who have been looked after by the local authority continuously for more than six months, and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.
Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However, schools will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils. We are required to publish online information about how we have used the Premium. This will ensure that parents and others are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the Premium and the extra support that they receive.

Help get additional funding for the school
The government gives additional funding to schools for those children entitled to free school meals. We use this money to obtain additional staff and resources that help improve the quality of education.
To find out whether your child qualifies for free school meals, and hence whether the school would receive additional funding, please fill in the details requested on the Free School Meals Eligibility Checker.
If you would prefer, we can check eligibility on your behalf. Please ask our school office team if you would like us to run the check for you.
A Certificate of Eligibility is available through the website for any child eligible for a free school meal that is attending a school in England. The Certificate of Eligibility should be brought into school.
It is important to run the check even if your child already has a free meal (because they are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2) or if your child prefers a packed lunch because we will not receive the additional funding unless the check is made.
