In addition to meeting regularly as a full Governing Board, the Board has three permanent committees which monitor progress against the school’s vision, school improvement plan and financial performance.  The two main committees which meet five and three times a year respectively are the resources committee and the curriculum committee. Committees inform the full governing board to enable it to take better decisions.

The resources committee reviews financial policy, planning and monitoring, as well as matters regarding premises, like health and safety, and staffing.

The curriculum committee focuses on the planning and delivery of the curriculum, reviews assessment and improvement of the school and monitors the performance of pupils.

The Pay Panel committee meets annually to assure the governing board that pay decisions reflect performance and the school teachers’ pay and conditions document. A sub-committee reviews the performance and pay of the headteacher.

Associate Members
Associate members are not full governors but are appointed by the governing board to bring expertise and experience in specific areas to committees. They may be appointed for a period of between one and four years. They may attend full Governing board meetings but do not have voting rights.  Associate members may chair committees.
