Structure
Since September 2022, the Governing Board has moved to new model for meetings.
Previously, our Governing Board had sub-committees focusing on premises, finance and staffing, and curriculum and standards but, after much discussion, we decided that we would no longer have committees and instead have more regualar full governing board meetings.
Our aims are:
In addition to our full Governing Board, we have a Pay Panel committee which meets annually to assure the governing board that pay decisions reflect performance and the school teachers’ pay and conditions document. Additionally, a small group of governors are appointed to review the performance and pay of the headteacher.
Associate Members
Associate members are not full governors but are appointed by the governing board to bring expertise and experience in specific areas to committees. They may be appointed for a period of between one and four years. They may attend full Governing board meetings but do not have voting rights. Associate members may chair committees.

Our aims are:
- To avoid repetition between meetings
- To allow decisions to be made immediately rather than having to be passed through several committees
- To reduce the time burden on key governors
- To ensure that every governor had an understanding of the full range of responsibilities, enabling more informed and rounded decisions
- To ensure rapid turnaround of changes and actions generated at meetings
