At Pinner Park, we pride ourselves on providing a safe place for your child to play and learn with their friends. We take lots of steps to ensure their safety and happiness across the EYFS.
Our aim is very clear- to work with you, as first teachers, to provide the best start in life for your child. We want your children to be Ready, Respectful, Safe and Kind in all their endeavours. We want them to be healthy, active and enquiring learners. Our team consists of qualified teachers, nursery nurses and teaching assistants, all of whom have a passion for the early years, in being aspirational for, and dedicated to, our children. |

How we teach in EYFS
Our curriculum in Nursery and Reception follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), developing children’s early exploratory skills in the seven areas through play-based learning and continuous provision. This means that children have access to a wide range of opportunities and activities during the day that inspire and instil a love for learning. We want our children to thrive in our Nursery and Reception because this is where the magic of learning begins. The seven areas of the EYFS provide children with the relevant vocabulary, knowledge, skills and understanding needed, underpinned by research and pedagogy designed to get the very best out of our little people. Our curriculum is adapted each year for the children we have so that they feel represented and so that they truly feel as though they belong here at Pinner Park. We are an inclusive school- children with additional needs thrive in our environment with carefully designed curricula and play sessions to meet their individual needs, whether these be sensory, occupational therapy needs, speech, language and communication or social needs.
Our classrooms (the third teacher!) are safe, ordered and calm so that children can explore their interests and actively take part in adult-led activities. We have an excellent range of resources available. All children experience these, some in rotation. For example, our role play resources are rotated so that each class can have a WOW role play area. Our continuous provision allows children to use their enquiring minds, make decisions and join in activities. Our enhanced provision is led both by the children and/ or adults depending on the topic or interest(s) a child or children have. Often, we encourage the children to take learning in their own direction, thinking critically about things, problem solving and exploring different ways to do things. Parental involvement is key because we learn a lot about the children from you. We will always work together for the benefit of your child.
