A group of our Year 6 children had the opportunity to visit the Civic Centre today, at the Mayor's invitation, to see the Council Chamber and the Mayor's Parlour. This was a wonderful opportunity to hear all about civic life and to understand the workings of local government. Our thanks to the Mayor for her invitation and for her time. Our Year 2 children take part in a wonderful music unit which take place over three half terms. The unit is taught by professional musicians from Harrow Music. The children learn the drumming style, songs, dances and rhythms of Ghana. This week, the two classes who have undertaken this unit during the first half of the year had their chance to perform to parents. It was a breath-taking performance . Amazing! Well done to our super musicians who performed for parents on Tuesday 7 February. Composite groups of guitar, woodwind, percussion, string and vocal performances wowed the gathered audience. The groups included some 'pop' bands, as well as the school orchestra and guitar ensembles. The children performed everything from Ode to Joy, to Seven Nation Army and much more!
