We are now having 'whole school' assemblies on Monday mornings. This means that our children from Year One through to Year 6 are meeting together. We are meeting in two halls (because we don't have the space to fit in one) but we are very much 'one school' meeting together. This morning we were considering what it means to be ready, respectful, safe and kind, with a particular focus on kindness. We watched this video clip as part of our time together...

Getting active can be difficult. But we're here to help. Walking for Health is England’s largest network of health walk schemes with over 360 active walking schemes, helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. The walks are short and over easy terrain, and are open to everyone but are especially aimed at those who are least active. You can join health walks each week, starting here at Pinner Park Primary School! Harrow Health Walks are FREE and provide local residents with an opportunity to walk regularly in a relaxed and friendly environment and enjoy some beautiful green spaces. The walks are led by qualified and insured volunteer walk leaders, who encourage you to walk at your own pace. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age and fitness level. Around 300 people every month are already walking their way to health in Harrow. Walking for Health is a great way to meet new like minded people and explore your local area without having to worry about getting lost or having to plan your route! No need to book in advance - you can just turn up on the day. All you need are some comfy shoes! Our walks take place every Wednesday and Friday, starting at 9am, meeting by the bicycle storage on the upper school playground. All are welcome! For further information, please speak to Mrs Sachania. For other weekly walks, visit https://www.walkingforhealth.org.uk/walkfinder/harrow-health-walks
We have two briefing evenings coming up, for parents of children in Reception and Year 1. These briefings will be an opportunity to focus on phonics and reading. Come and hear all about how we will be helping your child to become a great reader and how you can help at home! Learn all about phonemes, graphemes, blending and segmenting, sound buttons, reading levels, phonics games, reading schemes, real books and tricky words… in a fun, relaxed environment! Please Book Using the Form Below This week, some of our learning has focussed on the theme of ‘Ordinary and Extraordinary’. We have looked together at a book by Colin McNaughton, ‘Once Upon an Ordinary School Day’.
The story is about an ordinary boy who lives in an ordinary house, who goes to an ordinary school. His life becomes extraordinary when a teacher helps him to discover imaginative writing. We’ve been thinking about turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, and about the school year ahead. If you speak to your child about the book, he or she might be able to tell you all about it. Some of the children have been telling us about their vision for an extraordinary school – we have much to live up to! Mr. Waldron was delighted to read Adil's poem about ordinary and extraordinary teachers... We are using a new, online system for booking clubs.
