We know that there will be a range of emotions and feelings about the return to school. As adults, we will want to ensure that our children return positively and calmly - even if we are feeling anxious.
The NHS has some top tips and advice on how to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible, as well as information about further help and support. This is a great read for parents. Additionally, each year group has a special community page on DB Primary dedicated to supporting emotional well-being. Do take a look - there are some excellent resources for parents and children, including this resource from Relax Kids. Our staff will be on hand to support and children or families as we transition back into school.

School is opening more widely next week, with all children expected to return on Monday 8 March. Our last newsletter had lots of details. Here a few key reminders. As part of a PSHE challenge, our Year 3 children made a moving banana car which would be good enough to enter into a banana race!
Our Year 1 children have been completing some research about lions. They have put their findings into posters.
![]() Thank you to all those parents who have provided feedback to us through our recent survey. The overall results are very helpful in our understanding of how our current remote learning approach is working. We are also very grateful to those parents who have taken the time to add additional written comments. We will read each one carefully. A very brief summary of the results can be viewed by clicking here. Our Year 4 children have been writing letters of application to join the Roman Army. They have needed to demonstrate their historical knowledge, as well as the structure of a formal letter and how to use persuasive language. Would you give them the job?
Our Year 1 children have been reading 'Beegu' by Alexis Deacon. They've been writing about spending a day with Beegu - she's a friendly creature but not from Earth!
Our Year 2 children have been learning about animals and habitats as part of their science curriculum. Here are a couple of examples of the posters they have created this week.
Our Year 3 children have been working at home on some fabulous art works inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky.
